Wedding cupcake towers for 100 with tasting & setup begin at $350 minimum plus tax & delivery. Cost will vary depending upon design complexity, number of cupcakes, and flavor assortment.
The cupcake stand(s) is/are not included. Many sturdy styles & configurations of stands may be found and purchased online and saved for other uses.
If a smaller quantity is needed, or you are designing your own display or custom tower, a take-out order may be placed for a small cake and any number of cupcakes by the dozen (2 dozen minimum). No tasting, no delivery.
It is difficult to cut cakes precisely by the charts because it is a freehand process, but they are good for understanding how to cut the number of slices calculated for each tier. There are other methods/layouts for cutting, and although most caterers/planners have their own practiced and preferred methods, the slice sizes are approximately equal at approximately 2" deep x 1" wide x height of the cake tier.
Inexpensive personal wedding/event insurance is available from companies such as WedSafe - or your own homeowner/personal insurance company - that reimburse the cost of amounts paid to vendors for personal emergencies, weather cancellations, accidents, and other cancellations or postponements. This is especially recommended for weddings scheduled during hurricane/tornado, flooding, or snow seasons.
During Charleston flooding, Columbia experienced many weddings trying to move/reschedule here at last minute because vendors did NOT reimburse amounts paid - vendors do not control weather or assume financial responsibility for weather events. This personal event insurance covers you and your cost reimbursement, and usually is $200 or less for a typical wedding (very different risk profile than a large commercial event). Please check with your insurance provider.
Start with an idea, a theme, a sketch, or a photo of a cake you like (yours or ours). We will schedule a consultation to taste cake and create together the perfect design to complement the theme and ambiance of your wedding. As the date approaches, we are here to assist with any additional details. Then when your wedding week arrives, we will create the cake and (optionally) deliver to your reception table.
We can add cake toppers and fresh flowers (from your florist) at delivery as needed. Please arrange this with us ahead of time. Handmade gumpaste or buttercream icing flowers are generally already placed on the cake when delivered.
A box for the top tier, and a separate box for leftovers, are left under the cake table at delivery (usually in the kitchen or with the reception planner if the table cloth is not floor length).
Two traditional cake flavors are included at no extra cost, anywhere in the cake. Extra charges may apply for premium flavors, more than two flavors in the same wedding cake, for extra-tall cake tiers, and for fondant base icing. All cakes are made from scratch. No mixes are used in any of our cakes. Buttercream icing is also handmade here at the bakery.
We are consistently told at bridal shows that our cakes taste the best at the show, and that the white wedding cake is reminescent of old-fashioned bakeries remembered from childhood. Fondant cakes are ever popular, and our buttercream-iced cakes are so smooth, they are often mistaken for fondant-covered cakes.
Prices are primarily by serving and begin at $3.50 per serving plus tax, dependent upon design, composition and size.
A nonrefundable $200 down payment locks in your date, and the remaining balance is due by 2 weeks before the wedding (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AmEx, cash, checks, PayPal, PayPal Me/Vintage Bakery). Cake quotes are guaranteed for 14 days.
Optionally, an online account can be set up in the "cloud". Online payments of any amount may be made at your convenience anytime you wish between booking and the due date until the full balance is paid.
Delivery fees begin at $59 for Columbia, and depend upon distance from the bakery, Friday delivery during rush hour traffic, logistics such as stairs, grassy yards, elevated stages/platforms, time required to complete designs that must be assembled on-site, and adding decorations that cannot be attached before delivery. We do not overcomplicate this or add on charges for every little thing, but these are real delivery considerations for fragile wedding cakes. Typical three-tier and four-tier cakes can usually be delivered fully assembled and ready for placement on the table.
Cancellations within 60 days of the wedding date are non-refundable.
Optional silver or gold cake stands are available for a rental fee plus a refundable deposit. The deposit is refunded when returned undamaged by Wednesday after the wedding. A drop-off location for this purpose is available 24/7 with no appointment. (Delegate - instructions and directions are attached underneath.)

Will my cake melt in an outdoor summer reception? We have seen even fondant cakes melt in the shade on 100°F days. We do not recommend outdoor placement of cakes when the temperature exceeds about 75°F, and have not tested for exact tolerance levels for fondant and buttercream as ingredients vary. Humidity would also be a factor. Please note that food colors fade very quickly in direct sun, and this could happen before your reception even starts.
Cake cutting is usually done by the catering or venue staff. Please coordinate with your planner.
Cake tops & knife/server sets are not included as these are keepsake/decorative items provided by the bride.
Can I taste cake without a consultation? Cake samples are complimentary and available only at an in-person consultation or at a bridal show.
$343 plus tax & optional delivery is the starting cost for a 3-tier round buttercream wedding cake for 98 guests (86 if the top tier is reserved).
There is no upper limit
For smaller, intimate weddings of less than 86 guests, a 2-tier cake can be ordered for pickup to save cost. These can be customized and firm quoted from an emailed photo or sketch for convenience. For full wedding cake service with tasting and delivery, the $343 minimum plus tax and optional delivery applies regardless of the cake size.
